Hays is working with a Gloucester-based secondary school in recruiting for a Qualified Science Teacher for maternity leave cover on a full-time basis. This school is renowned for its academic excellence and supportive environment. The science department is well-resourced and committed to delivering high-quality education. The school has received a 'Good' rating from Ofsted and offers a broad curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Your new role
- Planning and delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
- Preparing students for exams and ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Maintaining discipline and creating a positive learning environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- A passion for working with young people and teaching them.
- The ability to manage behaviour and classrooms to create positive learning environments.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A PGCE or an accepted UK equivalent qualification - ECTs & NQTs are welcome to apply.
- A relevant degree.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to apply for one through Hays.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
