Job Description:

We are working with a mixed-gender secondary school and sixth form in West Sussex, seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher. This is a long-term assignment that could become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective science lessons to students aged 11-18.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A current DBS check or willingness to undergo a new one.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience teaching science in a secondary school setting.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational practices and technologies.
