Your new company

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and well‑organised Temporary Workplace Receptionist to provide front‑of‑house support during a period of cover. This role is key to maintaining a positive first impression and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the workplace. You will act as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and colleagues, representing the business in a professional and welcoming manner at all times.

Your new role

In this role, your key duties will be –

  • Welcoming and signing in visitors, clients, and contractors in line with site procedures
  • Managing the reception desk and maintaining a professional front‑of‑house environment
  • Answering, screening, and directing incoming telephone calls
  • Managing meeting room bookings and supporting meeting set‑ups as required
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post and courier deliveries
  • Liaising with internal teams to announce visitors and support workplace needs
  • Providing general administrative support where required
  • Ensuring adherence to security, health and safety, and visitor protocols

What you'll need to succeed

You will be approachable, organised, and comfortable working in a customer-centric role.

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist, front‑of‑house, or administrative role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, basic Excel)
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment

What you'll get in return

You will get the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. You will be based centrally and will work 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00. The rate of pay is £15.82 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay. The role is initially for 4 weeks but may be extended due to performance and business needs.
