Join a public sector organisation that is recruiting for a Higher Clerical Officer based in Antrim.
Your new role
As a Higher Clerical Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of a busy clinical service. This is a full-time position, with responsibilities including:
- Acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a professional and courteous reception service.
- Managing appointments using specialist systems, including booking, rescheduling, and maintaining waiting lists.
- Handling telephone enquiries and ensuring accurate communication of messages and information.
- Supporting radiology workflows by monitoring reports, allocating scans for reporting, and expediting urgent requests.
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Assisting with staff induction and training, and contributing to service improvement projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A–C) including English and Maths, plus 1 year of clerical/administrative experience
OR - GCSE English and Maths (Grade A–C) plus 2 years of clerical/administrative experience
- 5 GCSEs (Grade A–C) including English and Maths, plus 1 year of clerical/administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities).
