Your new role
This full-time, temporary caretaker position will involve a wide range of site and maintenance duties, including:
- Carrying out cleaning tasks across the school site
- Maintaining locks, security systems, and fire doors
- Completing general maintenance and repair work
- Supporting with basic grounds maintenance
- Moving and setting up equipment and furniture as required
- Keyholder duties, including building security
- Ensuring the school environment is safe and well-maintained for all staff, students, and visitors
- Applicants with recognised qualifications or substantial experience in a suitable trade are strongly encouraged to apply.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to work effectively on their own initiative
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Have practical maintenance abilities
- Bring previous maintenance or general handyperson experience (ideal)
- Hold Legionella training (desirable)
- Have a joinery or wider maintenance background (desirable)
- Be proactive and reliable in their approach to work
This is a temporary role. We will require references covering at least the last two years, and you must be willing to undergo a DBS check if you do not already hold one registered on the Update Service.
