Position: School Office Manager
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Approximately 8 Weeks

We are currently seeking an experienced and organised School Office Manager to support a welcoming school in Hexham on a full-time temporary basis from September 2026. This assignment is expected to last for approximately 8 weeks, providing vital administrative leadership during a period of staff absence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled school administrator who can quickly adapt to a busy school environment and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the daily operation of the school office and reception.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and school databases.
  • Coordinating attendance monitoring and reporting procedures.
  • Supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks.
  • Managing correspondence, enquiries, and school communications.
  • Assisting with financial administration, purchasing, and invoicing.
  • Overseeing office systems, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Providing supervision and support to administrative staff where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience as a School Office Manager, Senior Administrator, or similar role within an education setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience using school management information systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • A professional and confidential approach to sensitive information.
