School Caretaker role, South Birmingham, Monday–Friday, to commence after Easter

I am working with a vibrant school in South Birmingham that is looking for a hands-on, dependable School Caretaker to join their team on a full-time temporary basis. If you’re someone who takes pride in keeping a school running smoothly, safely and efficiently, this role could be a great match.
Your new role
- Support site security: key holding, opening/locking the school, responding to alarms, and monitoring access.
- Act as a presence around the school—supervising public areas and managing general maintenance.
- Serve as a Fire Marshal, carry out routine fire safety checks, and report any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with day-to-day facilities tasks including deliveries, moving furniture, room setups, minor maintenance, light grounds duties, and occasional cleaning.
- Ensure school policies on safeguarding, equality, and health & safety are upheld at all times.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous school‑based experience in premises, care-taking or maintenance role
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Ability to lift, carry, and patrol the site indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
