Part-Time School Administrator Required September - Wigan

Are you looking for a new school administrator role in a warm and friendly school?

Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as a passion for providing outstanding customer service?

If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our temporary School Administrator position at a welcoming and supportive primary school in Shevington!

Your New Role

As a School Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the school office and ensuring the smooth running of the reception area. You will be the first point of contact for all visitors, phone calls, and enquiries, providing a professional and friendly front-of-house service.

This is a part-time temporary position starting in September, although the school could accept a start before the end of term to handover.
Working hours would ideally be 8.30-12pm.

  • Managing the school diary, booking appointments, arranging meetings, and sending reminders
  • Updating and maintaining records, databases, and files using SIMS
  • Monitoring and recording pupil attendance and punctuality, including following up on absences
  • Producing daily and weekly attendance reports for senior leaders
  • Supporting the completion and submission of statutory returns such as the school census
  • Assisting with pupil admissions, leavers, and transitions
  • Handling incoming and outgoing communications (letters, emails, deliveries)
  • Preparing documentation and resources, tidying materials, and replenishing stock
  • Following school policies on health and safety, safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection
  • Using ICT systems such as SIMS.net, Edulink, EVOLVE, CPOMS, and ParentPay
  • Carrying out reprographics and general administrative tasks
  • Supporting the organisation of school events, trips, and parent communications

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Previous experience in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of SIMS or other school management systems (desirable but not essential)
  • A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude
  • High levels of confidentiality and discretion
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
