Primary school Administrator role, South Birmingham, B17, Monday - Friday, Term time, To commence ASAP

Your new company

Within this fast-paced school administrator role based in a South Birmingham school, you will be responsible for managing a number of varied administrative tasks within the school, as well as being the first port of call for all parents, visitors and pupils to the school. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, teachers, support staff, and governors to ensure the smooth running of the front office.


Your new role

This is a term-time-only position working Monday - Friday and will be temporary on an ongoing basis. There is an opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right individual.

Duties may include, but not restricted to:

  • Taking calls and messages.
  • Welcoming visitors to the school and ensuring they are signed in and out accordingly
  • Booking appointments and arranging meetings with parents and outside agencies.
  • Update and maintain pupil and staff records or databases, using computer applications such as Microsoft Office and school MIS.
  • Speaking to parents and sending out correspondence about pupil absences
  • Send and receive letters and emails.
  • Order and stock supplies, equipment, and stationery
  • Follow the school policies and procedures regarding health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection
  • Dealing with reprographics needs within the office.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a school or office environment is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of school systems (MIS)

  • A high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
