Experienced Attendance Administrator reequired for a long term role in Runcorn.

We are currently supporting a large high school in Runcorn to recruit an experienced administrator for a long term temporary role starting asap.


You will be joining an experienced school administration team supporting the Office Manager on a daily basis with responsibility for managing all attendance administration.

The role is initially temporary until Christmas but could be extended further or made permanent.

The role is Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm

Your new company

You will work in a large 11-16 High School in Runcorn where you will join an experienced and welcoming admin team who support the office manager, business manager and school senior leadership team with the daily running of the school. You will support with the tracking of attendance and produce daily, weekly reports for the senior leadership team. You will also be responsible for supporting other administration tasks within the team as and when required.

Your new role

Your key duties will include, but will not be limited to:
  • To manage data relating to the attendance and punctuality of students at school and in lessons and to manage and monitor tracking systems.
  • To develop and maintain specialist knowledge of attendance issues and best practice and provide advice and guidance to the SLT on matters relating to attendance. Interpret matters of policy and statute to ensure the school’s compliance and initiate appropriate action. Develop expertise in all processes and procedures for the purpose of raising standards.
  • To deal with attendance issues effectively and support other staff to do the same.
  • To assist the Data Manager in completing Census returns on attendance by chasing outstanding unexplained absences by key dates each year.

What you'll need to succeed

  • An enhanced DBS, or willingness to get one
  • Experience using SIMS or similar systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Data analysis skills to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Knowledge of attendance legislation and guidance (Not essential, but beneficial)
