If you are looking for a job as a school administrator or school receptionist, then we can help. We have school administration/ receptionist jobs available across the city with full and part-time hours to suit your needs.

Your new role

Working Monday–Friday during term time, a typical school administration job will involve:

  • Being the first point of call for any staff, pupils and visitors to school, whether that be in person, over the phone or via email/ letter correspondence
  • Handling incoming calls in a professional manner
  • Making outgoing calls
  • Diary management
  • Using the school system (usually SIMS or Arbor) to manage high volumes of student data
  • Input register information
  • Collate dinner numbers
  • Handling petty cash
  • Dealing with post and email queries
  • Maintaining the school website

Hours can vary between 8–4.30 depending on school needs and the size of the team they have.


What you'll need to succeed

For all school administration roles you will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.

  • You will be a highly organised person with excellent time management skills.
  • You will have strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to work with diverse groups of people over the course of a day.
  • You will be professional, and willing to promote the school ethos from the moment people get in touch with or visit the school.
  • You will be competent in the use of MS Office, typing and be comfortable learning bespoke programmes for the handling of highly confidential data.
