Scheme Manager (Independent/Sheltered) - Ongoing temp into 2026 with permanent opportunity
Are you passionate about supporting older and vulnerable people to live independently? We’re looking for an experienced Independent Living Officer to join our client’s team within a sheltered housing environment. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique needs of residents in independent living schemes and has strong tenancy management skills.
Key responsibilities:
Act as the main point of contact for residents, visitors, and stakeholders within the Independent Living Scheme
Provide housing management services to help customers maintain their tenancies, including completing sign ups and Housing Benefit claims.
Daily contact with residents based on individual support plans.
Conduct health and safety checks, raise repair orders, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance.
Support tenancy management and income collection.
Organise scheme activities and promote resident engagement.
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
A background in social housing with a strong knowledge of housing and tenancy management principles, legislation and best practice
Understanding of safeguarding and the needs of older/vulnerable people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and confidently as a lone worker
