Are you passionate about supporting older and vulnerable people to live independently? We’re looking for an experienced Independent Living Officer to join our client’s team within a sheltered housing environment. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique needs of residents in independent living schemes and has strong tenancy management skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for residents, visitors, and stakeholders within the Independent Living Scheme

• Provide housing management services to help customers maintain their tenancies, including completing sign ups and Housing Benefit claims.

• Daily contact with residents based on individual support plans.

• Conduct health and safety checks, raise repair orders, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance.

• Support tenancy management and income collection.

• Organise scheme activities and promote resident engagement.

• Respond to emergencies and safeguarding concerns promptly.

What you'll need to succeed

• A background in social housing with a strong knowledge of housing and tenancy management principles, legislation and best practice

• Understanding of safeguarding and the needs of older/vulnerable people

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and confidently as a lone worker
