Hays are supporting a growing renewable energy provider that specialises in delivering modern, low‑carbon heating solutions across domestic and commercial projects. With demand for sustainable technologies increasing rapidly, they are expanding their design team and are now seeking a Renewable Heating Design Engineer to help drive forward a diverse portfolio of future‑focused projects.

Your new role

• Design domestic and commercial heating systems aligned with project requirements
• Deliver accurate heat‑loss calculations and system sizing
• Develop low‑carbon and renewable system designs, including heat pumps
• Produce drawings, schematics, and detailed design documentation
• Ensure full compliance with UK & Irish building regulations and sector standards
• Interpret technical surveys and project information
• Support installation teams during delivery, installation, and commissioning
• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise system performance

What you'll need to succeed

• HNC / HND / Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, OR equivalent industry experience
• Experience in heating system design (domestic and/or commercial)
• Strong understanding of low‑carbon heating and renewable technologies
• Competent in heat‑loss calculations and system design principles
• Working knowledge of UK building regulations (Irish regs beneficial)
• Experience with heating design and drawing software
• Ability to read and interpret technical data
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities
• Full UK driving licence & UK work eligibility
