HR Officer | Public Sector | 4 months | Belfast

The HR & Corporate Services department plays a pivotal role in enabling operational excellence and strategic development.


Your new role

As a Human Resources & Corporate Services Officer (Band 5), you’ll be part of a small, high-performing team delivering a wide range of HR and corporate services. Your responsibilities will span across:

  • Providing professional HR advice on employee relations, recruitment, absence management, and equality matters.

  • Supporting and coordinating people and culture initiatives, including Investors in People.

  • Managing HR systems and data, including reporting and analysis.

  • Coordinating training and development activities.

  • Supporting corporate services functions such as internal communications, staff engagement, and compliance reporting.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A university degree or recognised professional qualification plus at least one year’s experience in a Human Resources department;
    OR
    At least three years’ relevant HR experience, including one year at Band 3 level or equivalent.

  • Experience advising managers on a range of HR issues.

  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience producing statistical reports.

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments will be made where applicable).

  • Desirable:

  • Experience using HR/payroll systems.

  • CIPD qualification or membership.
