Your new company

A very busy 3 form entry Primary School in North Birmingham is looking for a School Receptionist. The cover is Monday to Friday, term time only, 8am - 4.00 pm or 8.30am – 4.30pm. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity to start as soon as possible.

Your new role
The role is to provide reception cover to a busy 3 form entry school office which has over 650 students on roll. The role will entail:

  • Providing a professional and efficient ‘front of house’ reception and switchboard support to the Academy.
  • Provision of full clerical and general non-teaching support to the wider Infants and Junior Academy
  • Receiving, signing in and dealing with or directing pupils, parents and other Academy visitors
  • as appropriate.
  • Taking telephone calls and delivering messages as appropriate within a timely fashion.
  • Receiving and sorting incoming mail and deliveries for distribution to appropriate staff.
  • Stamping / franking and posting of outgoing mail.
  • Occasional routine Word processing, as and when required.
  • Input into designated information management systems, use, download and distribute
  • associated output as required.
  • Prepare large scale distribution of letter and papers to the parent community.

This is busy school office based on a big site between the infants and juniors, you will also be required to escort late children to their classes when required. The school require an individual that is proactive with strong customer service skills.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have a high level of communication skills and be able to work quickly under your initiative. You will also have recent satisfactory references for carrying out a similar placement within the last 2 years. You will also need to have an up to date DBS check, the school can't accept any applicants without this
