Your new role
As a Temporary School Administrator/Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, and staff. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the school’s front desk and handling incoming calls and enquiries
- Greeting visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed
- Providing administrative support to the leadership team and teaching staff
- Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems
- Assisting with attendance monitoring and pupil data entry
- Supporting with general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and post
This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent communication and organisational skills.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate would have:
- Previous experience in a school office or similar administrative role
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school management systems (e.g. SIMS or Arbor)
- A professional and friendly manner with excellent customer service skills
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the update service.
