Reception Teacher Required - Short Term Sickness cover


A welcoming and supportive primary school in South Wakefield is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teacher to join the team for the final three weeks of the summer term, covering a staff sickness absence.

This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs)/newly qualified teachers completing their studies this summer and experienced supply teachers looking for a rewarding short-term assignment within an Early Years setting.


The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative learning experiences for a Reception class, ensuring children remain supported and motivated through the final weeks of the academic year. The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years team to maintain continuity and provide a nurturing learning environment.

  • Holds, or will shortly achieve, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a passion for Early Years education
  • Creates a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Is adaptable, professional and committed to supporting children's development

  • Established supply teachers with Reception or EYFS experience
