Salary: £45,000–£60,000 (dependent on experience)

The Opportunity –
An exciting opportunity has arisen for talented and committed teachers to join a new independent preparatory school opening in Essex. The school will provide a high-quality, academically ambitious education for children aged 3–7, with a strong emphasis on language development, character education, and a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum.

This role offers the chance to be part of a founding teaching team, contributing to the development of the school’s ethos, curriculum, and classroom culture from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Early Years Foundation Stage and/or Key Stage 1
  • Create a calm, positive and purposeful classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic progress and personal development
  • Foster independence, curiosity, and confidence in young learners
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality of provision
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and safeguarding
Candidate Profile –
We are looking for individuals who:
  • Hold QTS or EYTS (essential)
  • Have experience teaching within EYFS and/or KS1 settings
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching practice
  • Are reflective, motivated, and committed to delivering high standards
  • Are enthusiastic about contributing to a growing school community
  • Bring a positive, professional, and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Specialisms in subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, PE, Art, or Languages are welcomed but not essential.
Desirable:
  • Experience within the independent sector
  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. Master’s degree)
