Your new company

Our client is a large privately owned residential builder developer with significant interests in the residential market in the UK from BTR to volume housing. With a large project in Edinburgh coming close to completion, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a contract basis to close it off commercially.

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in their office in Western Edinburgh and you will be reporting to an experienced Commercial Director. Your project is a large housing project close to the office with about 6 months to go, so you will be responsible for bringing this project to a commercial close. This project is tracking well and with procurement fully complete your role will be to ensure the project is commercially managed effectively to completion. This will involve managing payments effectively, compiling and delivering reports and addressing any commercial issues that arise.

What you'll need to succeed

Our client is seeking someone on an immediate basis with ideally someone in post directly after Christmas, so the ideal candidate would be a degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor with experience of working on residential projects in Scotland. You will be able to pick up the reins of a project quickly while building positive relationships internally and externally with project stakeholders. This role would suit an experienced QS who is perhaps seeking to move into freelance work or has unexpectedly finished a contract.
