About the Role
We are working with a well-established regional contractor to appoint an intermediate-level Quantity Surveyor or someone looking to take the next step in their career.
This opportunity will see you working across a range of new build and refurbishment projects, typically valued between £1m and £10m, supporting both preconstruction and delivery teams.
The role offers excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle, making it ideal for someone keen to develop their commercial skills within a supportive and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Assist with managing project budgets, cost reporting, and forecasts
- Support the procurement of subcontract packages
- Prepare and review valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and ensure financial targets are achieved
Procurement & Packages
- Manage subcontractor packages from tender through to final account
- Support negotiations and ensure best value is achieved across the supply chain
- Work closely with site teams to track progress and manage costs
Preconstruction Support
- Assist with tender processes, including pricing and cost planning
- Support preparation of estimates and subcontract enquiries
- Contribute to buildability and value engineering discussions
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and senior commercial staff
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain clear communication across all project stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor
- Exposure to new build and refurbishment projects
- Strong understanding of subcontractor packages and cost management
- Eagerness to learn and progress within a commercial role
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Some knowledge of JCT contracts preferred
- Relevant qualification (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar
