Senior Quantity Surveyor – Berkshire
Location: Berkshire (regional projects)
Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 + Car Allowance + Package

The Opportunity
A well-established main contractor based in Berkshire is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work.
The business delivers projects across the healthcare, education, and leisure sectors, with schemes typically ranging from £3m–£14m. They have built a solid reputation for delivering quality projects and maintaining long-term relationships with clients across the South.
This is a key role within the commercial team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of projects while working within a stable and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management – Take full responsibility for the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account
Cost Control – Manage project budgets, forecasts, and reporting to ensure financial targets are met
Procurement – Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment
Subcontractor Management – Manage subcontractor accounts, variations, and payments
Valuations – Prepare and manage applications for payment and final accounts
Risk Management – Identify and manage commercial risks across projects
Collaboration – Work closely with site, design, and senior management teams to ensure smooth project delivery

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor
  • Experience delivering projects in the £3m–£14m range
  • Background across healthcare, education, or leisure projects (preferred)
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent (preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
