Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your new company :

Our Client are looking to strengthen their Commercial Team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in their Head Office in Glasgow. This opportunity will give you the chance to be part of for the Commercial Team delivering projects across Scotland and beyond within Marine, Water Management, Infrastructure and Energy Projects.

Client has built up a client base and workloads developing marine works, energy, infrastructure and water management throughout Scotland. With our in-house plant, equipment and expertise, we aim to tackle complex projects, self-delivering in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Your new role :

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be part the Commercial Team, mentoring and guiding a team of Assistant and Intermediate members of the team, while reporting into the Commercial Managers.

Your duties and responsibilities will include :

  • Carrying out the day to day administration of the commercial and financial aspects of projects.
  • Close liaison with the Project Management Team(s)
  • Preparing Cost and Value reporting
  • Preparing commercial performance reports
  • Manage procurement including labour, plant, materials and subcontract.
  • Line management to junior members of the team
  • Completing monthly commercial performance reports to the Commercial Manager
  • Cost control
  • Cash collection
  • Subcontract management and liaison

What you'll need to succeed :

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance
  • Results driven with the capability of working on their own initiative
  • Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
  • Knowledge and implementation of NEC contracts desirable
  • High attention to detail
