We are seeking a dynamic Events Manager to join an education setting based in East Lancashire. This is a key role within the Marketing and Communications team, offering the opportunity to lead a diverse and exciting calendar of events that support student recruitment, staff engagement, and employer partnerships.
As Events Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality events. From student open days and celebration ceremonies to employer showcases and internal campaigns, your work will play a vital role in enhancing our brand, strengthening community ties, and supporting strategic goals.
This is an interim position until November/December, working Monday to Friday with the potential for home working 2 days per week. Due to the nature of this role, there will be an expectation to attend all events, some in the evening. Therefore, some flexibility will be required.
Your new role
- Event Planning & Delivery – Lead the organisation of a wide range of events, including Student Open Events, Staff Conferences and Employer Engagement Days. Develop detailed event plans, manage logistics, and ensure smooth delivery on the day.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to scope event requirements, define success criteria, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Budget & Resource Management – Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money. Monitor spend and provide post-event cost-benefit analysis.
- Marketing & Promotion – Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure strong pre- and post-event promotion, including digital campaigns and branded materials.
- Evaluation & Reporting – Implement post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and produce detailed reports to inform future planning and continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in events management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Experience working in an educational or public sector setting.
- Familiarity with event management tools such as Eventbrite or Trello.
- A proven track record of delivering successful events at scale within a complex organisation.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing budgets and coordinating suppliers.
- A creative eye for detail and a proactive, resilient approach.
- Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends as required.
