Contract - Site Engineer - Highways - Norwich

Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.
Your new role
You will be supported by the Section Engineer and other team members. You are expected to take full ownership of the site activities within your section, actively contributing to the planning process and ensuring that all works are delivered in line with the design specifications and contractual requirements.
Your Duties:Design
- Prepare temporary works briefs to the required standard.
- Review and raise design queries with the Section Engineer.
- Support the creation of red-line drawings.
Planning & Programme
- Contribute to the weekly 4-week lookahead for your section.
- Coordinate with the Section Engineer and supervisors to resolve clashes.
- Track and report progress against the plan.
- Assist in sequencing and planning, considering constraints and interfaces.
Commercial
- Maintain accurate site records and report changes.
- Raise timely and accurate requisitions for plant and materials.
- Understand and monitor subcontractor scope compliance.
Quality
- Set out works per design and specifications.
- Support Inspection and Test Plan delivery.
- Verify materials and maintain quality records.
- Identify and close out Non-Conformances.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to and promote Client and H&S policies.
- Ensure all parties are informed of relevant safety procedures.
- Plan works to minimise risks and produce RAMS.
- Conduct safety inspections and follow up on actions.
- Set clear safety expectations for your team and suppliers.
Environment
- Follow and promote environmental policies.
- Plan to reduce environmental risks and produce RAMS.
- Conduct inspections and close out actions.
- Encourage carbon reduction initiatives within your section.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
