Mechanical Engineer | Building Services Consultancy | 4-Day Working Week

A long-established building services consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team. With over two decades of experience, this firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical design solutions across private sector clients, including commercial, retail, industrial, residential, and hospitality. Operating under an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) model, this consultancy fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture where every team member plays a role in shaping the future of the business.

This role offers a 4-day working week, providing greater flexibility and work-life balance while maintaining full-time pay and benefits.

Your new role

  • Design and specification of sustainable and cost-effective mechanical systems
  • Site visits for appraisals, surveys, and condition reports
  • Ensuring mechanical systems meet performance, efficiency, and regulatory standards
  • Preparation of technical documentation including schedules, drawings, and reports
  • HVAC system design, domestic water services, and drainage layouts
  • Delivery of high-quality work with strong attention to detail

    What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical building services design, either with a consultancy or contractor.
  • Proficiency in MEP Revit and CAD
  • Level 4 qualification in a building services or mechanical engineering-related discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative team player
  • Full UK Driving Licence
