Civils - Quality Engineer - Long Term Contract !

Your new role
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Major Projects Quality Engineer to lead and elevate quality standards across our work on the HS2 project. This role supports the delivery of essential multi-utility diversion works along an 80km stretch of the HS2 route, covering key zones including GTS, T2G, and Calvert. As the key site-based quality lead, you will ensure all work complies with rigorous client and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will collaborate closely with , project managers, and delivery teams to maintain consistency and excellence across all project sections. You will also mentor local Quality Champions, embedding best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Your duties:
Understand and support the timely submission of ITPs and ITCs whilst ensuring the quality of the paperwork demonstrates compliance throughout the installation phase.
Ensure that all materials are approved prior to being used on site
Use relevant IT systems to manage all relevant quality and completions documentation and records.
Deliver quality awareness sessions as part of developing and training of engineers.
Support and mentor the Quality Champions.
Lead continuous improvement of standards, practices and procedures in the Business Management System through stakeholder engagement.
Actively supporting the Quality Assurance Manager and Handover team.
Encourage and promote the “Speak Up” and “good practice” initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable experience in a quality assurance or compliance engineering role, ideally within infrastructure or utility sectors.Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and quality standards in major civil engineering projects.
Proven ability to engage with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
Ability to apply quality assurance knowledge to support teams, by investigating non-conformities and ensuring lessons learnt are communicated.
Understanding of integrated management systems and the ability to develop and improve processes.
