We have a requirement for a Quality Inspector with our engineering client in Cookstown.

Your new company

A well‑established fabrication and engineering facility with over 40 years of expertise in laser‑cutting, welding, and heavy fabrication. It operates from a modern large manufacturing space and employs around 110 skilled team members, known for delivering high‑quality, precision‑engineered components.

The Role
As a Quality Controller, you will play a key role in inspecting chassis, fabricated parts, and associated equipment. You’ll support quality checks, audits, and process improvements while ensuring all products meet strict quality and safety standards.
39 Hour Week.
Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 3:45pm, Friday 7:00am – 1:00pm

What You’ll Do
  • Address and raise quality concerns on a daily basis
  • Carry out PDI inspections using 3D model software and complete associated reports
  • Perform paint checks on chassis, horns, and power units
  • Inspect internally fabricated parts and subassemblies before main build
  • Complete PDI reports, participate in morning meetings, and maintain documentation
  • Support the resolution of customer non-conformances (FRACAS)
  • Maintain quality gates within designated areas
  • Escalate non-conformances using the internal red tag process
  • Contribute to quality investigations where required
  • Conduct internal audits (5S, LSOP, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in a Quality or Inspection role
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System
  • Knowledge of measurement equipment (weld gauge, taper gauge, angle finder, etc.)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and the weld process
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to produce clear handwritten reports
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of cut/fold processes
