Senior Childrens Social Work Job in Oxford

Your new company

Oxfordshire Council is committed to delivering high-quality services to children and families. You’ll be joining a well-established and supportive Children with Disabilities Team that works to improve the lives of children and young people with complex needs. The team is passionate about safeguarding, inclusion, and providing tailored support to families across the area.

Your new role

As a Senior Social Worker, you will work with disabled children and their families, assessing their needs for social care services and providing support to those identified as Children in Need, those subject to Child Protection plans, involved in Care Proceedings, or those who are Children We Care For and Leaving Care. You will manage a diverse caseload and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the best outcomes for children. The role will involve assessment work, safeguarding, permanency planning, and court work where required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is confident in managing complex cases and contributing to a high-performing team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you must be registered with Social Work England and have at least two years of post-qualified experience. Experience working with disabled children is highly desirable. You will also need strong communication and analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering child-centred practice.

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll receive a competitive hourly rate, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to work within a supportive and experienced team. You’ll also benefit from ongoing professional development and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families across Oxfordshire.
