Your new role

In your new role as a PE Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering dynamic and inclusive PE lessons that inspire students to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
  • Creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages participation and personal development in physical education.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, offering constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
  • Organising and leading extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and events to enrich the school’s sporting culture.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Promoting teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship through engaging and varied physical activities.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting (including during teacher training).
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A passion for physical education and a commitment to student development and wellbeing.
