I am supporting a manufacturing business in Bedfordshire that is exploring the market for a strong Purchase Ledger Assistant who can take ownership of the payables process and also assist in other tasks in the finance team. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys a steady, reliable workload and isn’t necessarily looking to climb the ladder, but instead values being a trusted, long‑term member of a close‑knit finance team.

Your new role

• Processing high volumes of purchase invoices

• Matching delivery notes with invoices and purchase orders

• Posting and reconciling invoices transferred from the Pegasus Operations system

• Acting as the first point of contact for supplier queries

• Supporting month‑end by analysing outstanding invoices

• Entering project/job costings into the Pegasus Operations system

• Preparing weekly and monthly supplier payment runs

• Reconciling supplier statements

• General administration, including filing and archiving

• Assisting the wider finance team with additional tasks
  (Desirable) Providing cover for Sales Ledger and import/export duties

What you'll need to succeed

• Has solid experience in a purchase ledger processing environment

• Is highly confident using Microsoft Excel and Word

• Works well under pressure and can meet tight deadlines

• Shows strong attention to detail and organisation.
