Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting on behalf of a well-established business who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to cover a temporary assignment until April 2026.
Your new role
This role is ideal for an experienced purchase ledger clerk who can manage all aspects of purchase ledger processing with minimal supervision. This is a temporary, office-based role starting before Christmas until April 2026.
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes
- Data entry of purchase ledger invoices
- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve supplier queries.
- Process urgent supplier payments and prepare weekly payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate aged items.
- Work closely with operational teams and the wider finance team regarding invoice queries.
- Maintain supplier records and support month‑end purchase ledger tasks.
- Provide clear handover notes at the end of the assignment.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be immediately available to start work and have experience of processing purchase invoices and general finance administration tasks. I am keen to hear from ledger clerks, bookkeepers or accounts assistants as, depending on your experience, the business may be able to offer you more finance duties.
What you'll get in return
As explained, this will be a temporary purchase ledger job where you will be paid an hourly rate based on a salary of circa £24,000 - £26,500 depending on experience.
