Higher Level Teaching Assistant Job Available at SEMH Primary School in Salford

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team at a Primary SEMH School/PRU in Salford. This role will be based in a new specialist unit supporting autistic children with SEMH needs, where you will play a key part in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment. As a HLTA, you will work closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing tailored support that helps them engage positively in learning. You'll be part of a dedicated team focused on creating a safe, nurturing and empowering environment.

Location: Salford
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Potential temp to perm)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Up to £125/day (DOE)

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning experiences for children with autism.
  • Support the development of social, emotional, and communication skills in a structured and caring setting.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering interventions that meet individual needs.

Essential Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Team Teach trained – confident in using positive behaviour strategies
  • Experience working with children with autism and SEMH needs, preferably within a SEMH school/PRU or care environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
