Senior Project Manager - Data Centre/ HPC

A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy is looking for Senior Project Managers with experience of International Data Centre or HPC projects.
6-month contract, remote position with travel, Inside IR35

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering large-scale International Data Centre or High-Performance Computing (HPC) projects.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
The role is also likely to require significant international travel, and the successful candidate will be expected to work on customer site, often staying away from home for extended periods.

Experience and Qualifications required
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in managing International Data Centre or HPC projects.
Data Centre Infrastructure Knowledge:
Understanding of data centre components, including servers, storage, networking, cooling, and power systems.
High Performance Computing (HPC):
Familiarity with HPC environments and technologies.
Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure and HPC environments.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
PMP, PRINCE2 Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage large-scale International Data Centre or HPC projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget using waterfall, agile, or hybrid approaches.
Be accountable for the commercial outcomes of the project
Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure that expectations are set, understood, managed, and achieved.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
Ensure resource availability and allocation.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Report and escalate to management as needed.
Perform risk management to minimise project risks.
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
Use and continually develop leadership skills.
Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Certified Data Centre Project Management - CDCPM/ CDCMP desirable, not essential
