Job Overview
The Scrum Master will remove day‑to‑day impediments, encourage continuous improvement, and promote healthy team collaboration.
To support delivery teams by facilitating Agile ceremonies, helping the team maintain focus, and ensuring steady progress toward sprint goals.
Title: Scrum Master
Location: Hatfield
Rate: PAYE- £231.27/day (basic) and UMB – £300/day (Inside IR35)
Start/End Date: ASAP to 31-Dec-2026
Work Schedule: Mon–Fri 09:00–17:30
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Support the team in achieving sprint goals and delivering committed work consistently.
- Identify, track, and remove day-to-day impediments impacting team progress.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy, prioritised, and well-refined backlog.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment between the team and stakeholders.
- Provide visibility into sprint progress, team capacity, risks, and blockers.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through feedback, retrospectives, and incremental changes.
- Encourage adoption of Agile best practices such as Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, and quality focus.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
- Track recurring impediments and drive faster resolution to improve delivery flow.
- Improve delivery predictability, team engagement, and overall Agile maturity.
- Support alignment with broader delivery standards and cross-team practices where applicable.
Key Requirements
- Scrum Master, Agile facilitator, or team enabler in an IT delivery environment.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (requirements, development, testing).
- Experience working with cross-functional Agile teams with minimal dependencies.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira/Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Teams, or Miro.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and supportive approach.
- Ability to maintain team focus and encourage disciplined delivery practices.
- Scrum certifications (PSM I, CSM, or equivalent) are desirable.
