Financial services firm seeking experienced Project Coordinator to support complex technology transformation

Hays have partnered exclusively with a leading financial services organisation to appoint an experienced and highly organised Project Coordinator to support a visible, fast-paced external workforce programme. If you bring demonstrated experience in PMO or project coordination within heavily regulated FS environments (with particular priority placed on candidates who have supported complex technology transformations) then we want to hear from you.
Please note that due to our client's requirements, we can only consider applicants who have demonstrated recent experience within Project Coordination or PMO Support in financial services organisations.Role Details:
Length: Until EOY, likely extension
Location: London
Hybrid: Yes, 2–3 days in office
Rate: £350 - £450/day via Umbrella
Your new role and what you'll need to succeed
As the Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in keeping activity in the programme on track, acting as a central point of coordination across the team and wider stakeholders. Your core duties will include:
- Provide hands-on coordination support across multiple project work-streams
- Organise and manage meetings, including scheduling, agendas, materials and follow-ups
- Capture key decisions, actions and updates, ensuring they are tracked through to completion
- Maintain core project artefacts, including plans, RAID logs, trackers and status updates
- Support the creation of clear, concise written updates for senior stakeholders
- Act as a central contact for queries, helping to triage and direct requests appropriately.
- Coordinate inputs from stakeholders and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met
- Support overall programme governance and day-to-day operational activity
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Project Coordinator, PMO or project support role.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and communicating professionally.
- A proactive, “hands-on” approach with the initiative to pick things up quickly.
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in translating updates into clear messaging.
- Comfortable working in a structured programme environment with multiple moving parts.
- Experience supporting technology transformation programmes will be preferred.
