Procurement Officer – Newly created role
Your new company
An established and forward-looking organisation is creating a new central role to strengthen its procurement capability across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys combining analysis, compliance and stakeholder engagement and wants to see the direct impact of their work.
This role goes beyond transactional procurement. You will work closely with central finance teams and senior leaders across individual sites to identify savings, improve value for money and support informed budget decisions, while ensuring full compliance with public‑sector requirements.
Your new role
This is a newly created role to help drive the organisation forward. You will be based in the organisation's offices near Radstock, working closely with the finance teams and senior leaders across the organisation.
- Lead end‑to‑end tendering activities, from specifications through to contract award
- Maintain and manage a central contract register, identifying renewal and consolidation opportunities
- Produce clear, actionable management reports to support procurement decisions
- Act as a trusted partner to operational leaders, helping guide procurement activity and budget planning
- Monitor contracts, SLAs and utilities to ensure value, efficiency and continuity of service
- Support internal audits and year-end processes, maintaining robust financial controls
What you'll need to succeed
- Background in procurement, contract management or public‑sector finance
- Highly analytical, organised and detail‑focused, with strong commercial judgement
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Confident operating in a regulated environment with an emphasis on compliance and governance
- Motivated by ownership, improvement and delivering tangible results
