This position is based in Sheffield and will require travel to the site 3 days per week at minimum.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager as Purchase Ledger Clerk, your day-to-day role will be to support the efficient and effective delivery of services within the Finance Department. This includes:- Purchase Invoice processing - ensure all is matched between Purchase Order, Goods Received note and Purchase Invoice.
- Investigating mis-matches and working with the team to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintaining the purchase ledger – running monthly purchase ledger report.
- Maintain strong internal control over the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring proper procedures for purchase orders and invoices.
- Making sure purchase invoices are processed and closed at the end of the period to prevent manual accruals as part of the month-end preparation and closure procedures.
- Monitoring and identifying costs to the business.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and keep track of them for audit support.
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation and execution of the annual audit.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a similar role working with a high volume at pace.
- Strong customer service ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to support annual audits and their preparation.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable but not essential.
