Purchase Ledger Clerk - Sheffield - Hybrid - Up to £30,000 DOE

Your new company

Working for a global company who are innovative leaders in their field. They are looking for a Purchase Ledger who is able to work at pace to a high standard. They are strong believers in empowering their people through training, development and opportunities. This position is based in Sheffield and will require travel to the site 3 days per week at minimum.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager as Purchase Ledger Clerk, your day-to-day role will be to support the efficient and effective delivery of services within the Finance Department. This includes:
  • Purchase Invoice processing - ensure all is matched between Purchase Order, Goods Received note and Purchase Invoice.
  • Investigating mis-matches and working with the team to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger – running monthly purchase ledger report.
  • Maintain strong internal control over the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring proper procedures for purchase orders and invoices.
  • Making sure purchase invoices are processed and closed at the end of the period to prevent manual accruals as part of the month-end preparation and closure procedures.
  • Monitoring and identifying costs to the business.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and keep track of them for audit support.
  • Support the Finance Manager in the preparation and execution of the annual audit.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a similar role working with a high volume at pace.
  • Strong customer service ability to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to support annual audits and their preparation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable but not essential.
