Interim Procurement Manager
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement Manager to deliver high‑impact procurement support on a part-time, interim basis. Working 1–2 days per week on an interim basis for a 6-month contract, this role is ideal for a public sector procurement professional who enjoys leading complex procurement exercises and delivering real, tangible outcomes. You will attend key meetings in the office, otherwise you will be home-based.
You’ll take ownership of end‑to‑end procurement activity, working closely with internal stakeholders to shape service requirements, manage compliant tender processes and implement robust, value‑for‑money contracts. This is a role for a true procurement specialist, drawing on strong framework knowledge, legislative expertise, and the confidence to operate autonomously in a hybrid working environment based in Cambridgeshire.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to coach and advise
- Develop service specifications, KPIs and standards
- Lead compliant procurement processes and manage tender evaluations
- Finalise contracts / SLAs and manage contractor mobilisation
You will need proven experience delivering end‑to‑end procurement processes within the public sector, taking full ownership from initial scoping through to contract award and mobilisation. A strong understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and its practical application within regulated procurement is essential. Exposure to property or housing would be advantageous.
If you’re looking for a flexible procurement role that values expertise, autonomy and delivery over hours spent at a desk, this is a standout opportunity. Apply now to put your procurement skills to work on a focused, high‑impact assignment where your experience will genuinely make a difference.
