Procurement Specialist, Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer
A newly created interim procurement opportunity working for this highly-regarded Public Sector organisation in Essex. With scope to work 1–2 days per month in the office with the rest home-based, this role is available on a 3–6 month interim basis.
As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll provide expert, end‑to‑end procurement support across the organisation. You’ll lead sourcing activity, manage tender processes and ensure all procurement activity is compliant, transparent and aligned with best practice. Key responsibilities will include: Managing tenders, quotations and sourcing activity across multiple service areas; Reviewing existing contracts to identify risks, efficiencies and performance improvements; Guiding teams through compliant tendering processes, including route‑to‑market assessments and supplier analysis; Providing advice on contract management throughout the contract lifecycle; and Preparing and publishing spend data in line with transparency requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical knowledge, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills. With demonstrable experience of Public Sector procurement regulations and PA23 trained, you will have experience managing tendering processes for a range of works, goods and services. You will have the ability to analyse complex information and manage competing priorities and with excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills you will be able to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
