An award-winning and rapidly-growing technology company in Carlisle is seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join their team.
Your new role
As Procurement Manager, you will oversee all procurement and contract management across a wide range of direct and indirect categories, including vehicles, equipment, materials, mobile services, marketing, and IT. Success in this position requires strong expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and contract management, combined with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- Lead procurement activities such as identifying and assessing new suppliers, preparing tenders (ITTs, RFPs), evaluating submissions, and presenting recommendations.
- Negotiate supplier agreements to ensure contracts are robust, commercially sound, and aligned with business needs.
- Drive cost efficiencies across the supply chain.
- Define supplier performance KPIs, monitor ongoing performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage supplier spend reporting and analysis, leveraging the newly implemented ERP system for purchasing.
- Lead and develop a small team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a senior procurement capacity leading sourcing activities and negotiating pricing and commercial terms
- MCIPS qualification – preferred
- Experience of managing supplier improvement programmes and performance reviews
- Good working knowledge of contracts and T&Cs and the ability to negotiate them
- Experience of independently managing tender processes end-to-end
- Analytical with strong communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Good working level of Excel and PowerPoint
