Hays Procurement are excited to be recruiting, on an exclusive basis, a Procurement Manager for a recognised and growth manufacturing business within Rotherham, South Yorkshire. As Procurement Manager you will manage the effective and efficient purchasing of the company’s raw materials, packaging and direct purchasing requirements to meet the company’s profitability and cash management objectives.
Key Duties:
- To ensure purchase of an appropriate supply of raw materials, goods and services at market competitive prices
- To ensure purchases are managed within the cash flow capability and targets of the company
- Manage two direct reports
- Provide hedging support to include executing trades with brokers and data entry onto our system
- Month end raw material stock reporting
- Monthly KPIs to be updated and issued
- To assist with quarterly reforecasting on raw materials and packaging for the Finance team
- Together with the Head of Supply Chain, develop a strategic raw material strategy
- To communicate effectively with other business functions, to establish an agreed definition of the business needs and success criteria for each strategic material
- To establish and maintain market maps detailing supply markets and key players for all major raw materials, packaging and ancillaries
- Together with the commercial departments, manage raw material exposure within agreed company limits.
- To liaise with other business functions to proactively identify and implement profit-enhancing and cash-enhancing opportunities
- To ensure company systems are operated efficiently and effectively so that system information can be relied upon
- To comply with all Health and Safety and Environmental rules, policies and procedures
- To provide input to Kaizen activity
- To put forward and ensure departmental objectives are met within the agreed timescale
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a similar role within the manufacturing/engineering sector
- CIPS qualification or higher advantageous but not essential
- Negotiating, contract, organisation and good communication skills
- Reliable with strong attention to detail and methodical approach
- Able to think and express views to enable contribution to overall purchasing and business strategy
- Strong skills in word processing, excel and data entry
- Current Driving Licence
