Procurement Manager
A leading public sector organisation is seeking a Procurement Manager to deliver its procurement programme through a strategic business partnering approach. This role ensures procurement is robust, commercially effective, and aligned with organisational values, while managing risk and supporting corporate success.
You’ll play a key role in delivering the procurement plan forward, supporting strategic goals and improving outcomes for service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a responsive, high-quality, customer-focused procurement service.
- Lead complex procurement projects in line with internal controls and public sector regulations.
- Ensure contracts comply with statutory requirements including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Procurement Act 2023.
- Advise on supply market developments and procurement innovation.
- Implement strategies to manage procurement risk and maintain the Contracts Register.
- Provide supplier appraisal and contract management support to business groups.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers.
- Produce timely reports for senior stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
- MCIPS qualified or working towards.
- Experience in housing or wider public sector procurement.
- Proven track record in delivering successful procurement programmes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Experience managing complex procurements and supplier relationships.
- Excellent understanding of contract forms and procurement legislation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
Desirable
- Experience managing full tendering processes.
- Familiarity with geographically dispersed procurement environments.
- Experience in asset management or compliance-related procurement.
Working Style
Hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in the office. Remote working available depending on business needs.
