Junior Buyer | Temporary - 6 months | Kilmarnock | Immediate Start

Your new company

A well‑established organisation based in Kilmarnock, your new company is seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Junior Buyer to join its Procurement team. This is a full‑time, 6‑month temporary position offering the opportunity to support a busy buying function within a fast‑paced environment.

Your new role

As Junior Buyer, you will support the Buying team with day‑to‑day coordination and administrative responsibilities. You will place orders with suppliers, manage stock‑related processes, and assist with new product administration and master data management. You will help maintain the ERP system, contribute to analytical data reporting, and ensure all procurement activities run smoothly and cost‑effectively. Additional ad hoc duties will be carried out as directed by the Procurement Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a minimum of 24 months’ experience in a similar buying or procurement role, along with experience in stock control and order processing. Strong administrative skills, accuracy with numerical data, and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks are essential. You should also be confident using ERP systems, highly organised, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.

What you'll get in return

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, you will be paid weekly through an efficient online timesheet process and will also receive expert advice from a Hays consultant providing support and guidance throughout the duration of your contract. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your skills and gain hands on experience in a large and busy working environment. You will receive bespoke in-house training and will be closely guided to your success.
