Your new role
As Interim Procurement Manager, you will:
  • Direct and manage procurement activities for the organisation.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a professional procurement team.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve procurement processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, fiscal, and university regulations.
  • Oversee contract management, supplier negotiations, and tendering processes.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and key performance indicators.
  • Manage statutory returns, records management, and Freedom of Information requests.
  • Represent the organisation in sector initiatives and external networks.
  • Drive continuous improvement in business systems and value for money.
  • Provide high levels of customer service and manage complex supplier relationships.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience leading and developing professional teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of public procurement legislation, competitive tendering, and contract management.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring or supervising a team within Procurement.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with supplier invoice and payment processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and deliver results in a complex environment.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification is desirable.
