Procurement Manager

Hays are partnering with a well-established construction and project delivery organisation operating across the UK and Ireland, to recruit a Procurement Manager to join their growing team. This business is known for delivering high-value projects and offers a collaborative and progressive working environment.

Your new role
  • Support procurement delivery across pre-construction and live project phases
  • Assist in developing sourcing strategies aligned with programme and commercial objectives
  • Manage tender processes including issuing enquiries, evaluating returns and supporting negotiations
  • Review supplier pricing and challenge cost assumptions to ensure value for money
  • Work closely with estimating and commercial teams to validate scope and align with cost plans
  • Identify and assess project risks, highlighting potential commercial or delivery issues early
  • Engage with the supply chain to review buildability, programme and cost considerations
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost optimisation exercises
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Support the handover from pre-construction into project delivery

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience within procurement, commercial, estimating or pre-construction environments
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability with attention to detail
  • Exposure to tendering, pricing analysis or cost planning
  • Understanding of risk management within construction or project environments
  • Ability to challenge data and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Awareness of construction procurement routes (e.g. two-stage tendering)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Degree in a relevant field (desirable)
  • Working towards or holding a professional qualification such as CIPS or RICS (desirable)
