Hays are working in partnership with a large, complex public-sector organisation to recruit a Procurement Officer to support a high-volume sourcing and contracting function based in Belfast. The organisation operates within a regulated environment and delivers essential services across Northern Ireland.
Your new role
You will support the delivery of a value-for-money procurement service, contributing to sourcing and purchasing activity in line with established regulations and procedures. This role will involve managing quotations and tenders, placing and approving purchase orders, liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers, resolving invoice and payment queries, and monitoring supplier performance. You will also support colleagues across multiple sites, maintain accurate records using procurement systems, and ensure all purchasing activity complies with legislative and policy requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working in a commercial, financial, purchasing, or administrative environment
- Background supporting procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or contract activity
- Confidence using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- A proactive and organised approach with good time management skills
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience aligned to the role
