Practice Accountant role working with small businesses in Warwickshire within a supportive independent firm.

Your new company

Warwickshire independent practice seeking to recruit an experienced accountant due to client growth. Join a growing accountancy practice supporting owner-managed businesses with accounts, tax, and Making Tax Digital compliance.

Based primarily from the firm's Stratford-upon-Avon office, this is an excellent opportunity to join a client-focused business that prides itself on building long-term relationships and delivering practical, tailored advice to a diverse client base.

Your new role

This is a varied and highly client-facing position, offering the opportunity to manage your own portfolio while working closely with clients to support their financial and business objectives. Day-to-day you will prepare annual accounts for sole traders and partnerships, complete and review self-assessment tax returns, support clients with Making Tax Digital requirements and ongoing compliance and will provide practical accounting and taxation advice to a broad portfolio of clients.

You will also build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive support, taking on more responsibility for client relationships over time.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally hold relevant accountancy qualifications (ACCA/ACA preferred) and previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment and supporting sole traders and partnership clients with preparing accounts and tax returns. You'll have strong knowledge of Making Tax Digital requirements and excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Alongside this, a proactive and commercial approach to client service, the ability to manage your own workload and client portfolio effectively and a genuine interest in supporting owner-managed businesses and building long-term client relationships will be key.

Experience working with agricultural and rural businesses alongside landlords and family businesses would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

If you want to work in a varied, client-facing role within a supportive and successful independent firm, this could be the ideal role. Not only will you have scope to make this role your own, developing excellent client relationships and taking on more responsibility for clients over time, you will also have a clear route for career progression and will play a key part in the growth of this office.

Hybrid working is in operation with an expectation of 3 days spent working in the office. The firm has an earlier finish on a Friday and a clear focus on ensuring the team have a good work-life balance.

If you're an experienced Practice Accountant looking for a client-focused role where you can make a real impact, develop lasting client relationships, and progress your career within a growing Warwickshire-based practice, we'd love to hear from you.
