Your new company
Are you an experienced Defined Benefit (DB) Actuary looking to take the next step in your career?
A growing pensions advisory practice is expanding its DB actuarial team and is seeking a talented Senior Manager to help shape and deliver high‑quality actuarial services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Your new role
As a Senior Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role within a fast‑growing team, working closely with colleagues across actuarial, tax, legal and wider advisory disciplines.
In this market‑facing role, you will lead key client relationships and oversee the successful delivery of major DB actuarial engagements, developing journey plans, end‑game strategies and funding solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll support M&A activity through pensions due diligence, advise on scheme governance, benefit design and member communications, and help shape propositions and market opportunities. Alongside this, you’ll guide and review the work of actuarial teams, coach junior colleagues, and manage project budgets, financial performance and internal quality processes.
What you'll need to succeed
We are seeking a qualified FIA actuary with substantial Senior Manager level experience in DB pensions advisory, offering deep technical expertise across valuations, actuarial techniques and the wider UK pensions landscape.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, alongside a proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders and deliver complex projects. Excellent communication skills, a solutions‑focused mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high‑challenge, high‑support environment are essential, as is strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
What you'll get in return
On offer is a competitive base salary up to £125 DoE, and a comprehensive benefits package, designed to recognise and reward your expertise. You’ll also enjoy a flexible hybrid working model that supports a healthy work–life balance while giving you the freedom to do your best work in the way that suits you.
This role offers the chance to help shape a growing pensions practice while gaining strong visibility in the market and opportunities to build your external profile. You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team culture with a strong emphasis on professional development, coaching and long‑term career progression, and you’ll work with a diverse portfolio of complex clients across multiple sectors.
