Your new company
I am working with a fantastic public sector organisation to recruit a Pay and Reward Consultant. This role will lead on the creation and implementation of a pay and reward strategy that includes an overarching pay policy.
You will be responsible for ensuring that pay and reward strategy, policies and practices focus on meeting the needs of the organisation, are affordable, comply with regulations and support the strategic people plan.
My client can be flexible and would also consider part-time/reduced hours for this role. My client is also accessible and has free onsite parking.
Your new role
Responsibilities
- Scope out and deliver a strategic approach to pay and reward
- Working autonomously, research and develop proposals, using technical expertise and specialist knowledge
- Design a programme of activities to enable staff to share ideas and concerns to help inform and shape the options and proposals being put forward.
- Work with stakeholders up to Executive Team and Board level to gain support for recommended courses of action. As part of this the role holder will be responsible for recommending any phasing of solutions.
- Design a pay and reward policy that brings all the elements of pay and reward into one clear, equitable, and transparent policy. This includes the design and implementation of a refreshed job evaluation framework.
- Work with HR and Finance colleagues to ensure collation, analysis and validation of all data to result in affordable options being proposed.
- Working with HR and Finance colleagues, create processes and practices to underpin the pay and reward policy and support their implementation.
- Build and leverage relationships with external Pay and Reward Leads in other public sector organisations.
- Working with internal communications peers to lead the creation of a communications plan
- Lead engagement with trade union colleagues on proposals relating to pay and reward, adopting a partnership approach to the development of the strategy, policy, and underpinning processes.
What you'll need to succeed
About you
- Significant expertise in pay and reward policy development, interpretation, and application, and its link to and impact on wider people and organisational strategies
- Ability to develop strong, credible, and trusted working relationships in a quick timeframe with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of consulting at all levels of an organisation, using feedback to influence decision making and the development of options and proposals
- Excellent planning and organising skills with strong experience of resource and budget allocation and management.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, including pay modelling – working with data to identify trends and statistically important themes to inform thinking and decision making.
- Able to translate technical language into plain English that is easy to understand.
- Demonstrable ability to work autonomously to make key technical and operational decisions which align with organisational strategy
