About the Role Your new company
Hays Education is recruiting Qualified PE Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a variety of secondary schools in Bristol and the surrounding areas. We are looking for enthusiastic and confident PE specialists who can deliver high‑quality practical and theory lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
We offer a mix of:
- Day‑to‑day PE cover
- Short‑term placements
- Long‑term PE roles (available now, after Easter, and for the new academic year)

What you'll be doing Your new role
As a PE Supply Teacher, you will:
- Teach PE lessons across KS3–KS4, including practical sessions
- Supervise and lead sports activities, fixtures and fitness sessions (where applicable)
- Deliver theory lessons linked to the PE curriculum
- Manage behaviour positively and professionally
- Promote teamwork, resilience, participation and student wellbeing
- Adapt quickly to different school environments and PE departments
Long‑term placements may involve planning, marking, assessments and supporting extracurricular sport.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialism in Physical Education, with confidence teaching both practical and theory
- Experience teaching in a UK secondary school
- Excellent behaviour management and strong presence in practical settings
- The right to work in the UK
- An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
- A flexible, proactive and energetic approach
