Senior Payroll Specialist – Hybrid Working - Central Manchester – Large Bureau Permanent

The payroll operations team is expanding across several UK locations, offering a dynamic environment with excellent support, varied client exposure and genuine career progression.

Your new role

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering and implementing payroll services for a diverse portfolio of clients. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll process payrolls accurately, review work completed by junior team members, manage client queries, oversee engagement financials and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also support, coach and develop Associates to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong end‑to‑end UK payroll processing experience
  • Experience using large ERP payroll systems such as, ADP, Oracle, Workday, I-Trent or SAP
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
  • Confident IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships
Ideally,
  • A payroll qualification such as CIPP or atleast 5 years of payroll experience in the UK for a high-volume SSC or Bureau environment
  • Experience within a large professional services environment or payroll bureau
