Join as an Interim P11D Payroll Specialist in an Incredible Growing Payroll Team

Location: UK (Hybrid working available)
Contract Type: Temporary | Full-time

About the Role
We are working with a large, multi-site UK organisation to recruit an experienced P11D Payroll Specialist. This role sits within a well-established payroll and reward function and is responsible for the accurate preparation, reporting, and submission of P11D and P11D(b) returns, alongside related HMRC compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with strong benefits-in-kind knowledge who enjoys working in a complex, high-volume environment and collaborating with finance, HR, and reward teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and submit annual P11D and P11D(b) returns in line with HMRC requirements
  • Calculate and reconcile benefits in kind (e.g. company cars, fuel, private medical, accommodation, expenses)
  • Ensure accurate application of Class 1A NICs and manage related payments
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather benefit and payroll data across multiple entities
  • Support PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSAs) where applicable
  • Act as the subject matter expert on P11D legislation and HMRC guidance
  • Respond to HMRC queries and audits relating to P11D reporting
  • Identify process improvements and support automation and controls around benefits reporting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end P11D and benefits-in-kind processing
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance
  • Experience working in a large or multi-entity organisation
  • High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
  • Confident communicator able to work with HR, Finance, Reward, and external providers
  • Comfortable working to tight statutory deadlines
  • Experience with payroll or benefits systems (e.g. ADP, SAP, Workday, iTrent or similar)

Desirable
  • Payroll qualifications (CIPP or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting PSA calculations
  • Exposure to international or group payroll environments
