Are you a payroll professional looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join an established team in Leeds on a fixed-term contract to support with payroll operations while key team members are seconded to assist with the implementation of Workday.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing payroll function and gain exposure to transformation initiatives. Experience with Earnie IQ payroll systems would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality, end-to-end payroll service accurately and on time
- Process and review weekly and monthly payroll transactions, including statutory and occupational payments
- Provide expert guidance to employees and the business on payroll and PAYE matters
- Ensure payroll compliance with UK legislation and internal policies
- Resolve queries related to time and attendance data
- Support annual pay review and bonus processes
- Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment compliance and provider reporting
- Manage employee benefits such as PMI, Life Assurance, and SAYE
- Assist with annual P11D production for benefits in kind
- Complete pay period tasks as directed by the Payroll Manager
- Maintain and update payroll process documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll service delivery
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent experience)
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll and pension legislation
- Proven experience in payroll systems and operations
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
- Passionate about payroll governance and continuous improvement
- Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach
