Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum Location: Leeds Contract Type: Fixed Term (Up to 12 Months) Reporting to: Payroll Manager

Are you a payroll professional looking for your next challenge? We’re seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join an established team in Leeds on a fixed-term contract to support with payroll operations while key team members are seconded to assist with the implementation of Workday.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing payroll function and gain exposure to transformation initiatives. Experience with Earnie IQ payroll systems would be highly beneficial but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality, end-to-end payroll service accurately and on time
  • Process and review weekly and monthly payroll transactions, including statutory and occupational payments
  • Provide expert guidance to employees and the business on payroll and PAYE matters
  • Ensure payroll compliance with UK legislation and internal policies
  • Resolve queries related to time and attendance data
  • Support annual pay review and bonus processes
  • Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment compliance and provider reporting
  • Manage employee benefits such as PMI, Life Assurance, and SAYE
  • Assist with annual P11D production for benefits in kind
  • Complete pay period tasks as directed by the Payroll Manager
  • Maintain and update payroll process documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll service delivery

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant payroll qualification (CIPP or equivalent experience)
  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll and pension legislation
  • Proven experience in payroll systems and operations
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
  • Passionate about payroll governance and continuous improvement
  • Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach
